Information reproduced by permission of the author.

In this session, Ms. Sweeney introduced the audience the use bimodal reading tools for use in the classroom. Bimodal reading involves the presentation of text on a computer screen, highlighting and reading each word simultaneously to the student. The visual and auditory presentation of the text can be varied in terms of color, font, size, presentation rate, voice, modulation, pitch, and modulation. Topics also covered were: how to evaluate student need for and use of the technologies, how to "collect" the text used in these programs, and how to incorporate note-taking into the use of these programs. Ms. Sweeney has given Infinitec permission to share some of this information with our all-learners readers. Please see the Onion Mountain Technology website or contact Judith Sweeney for more information about this presentation.
