Radio Lives!
Radio still remains one of America's favorite
pastimes and it's very convenient because you can listen in the
car, while you work or do housework. Tune in to your local public
radio station for a variety of the most fascinating subjects from
world news, local news and music to art, film, politics and story
telling.
Chicago Radio Information Service, Inc. (CRIS)
is the eyes of Chicagoland. They provide verbatim readings of newspaper
and magazine information 24 hours a day, seven days a week from
all daily Chicago papers (including a weekly Spanish paper). Featured
are job ads, radio dramas, sports, TV listings, and articles from
popular magazines. A dial-in service lets listeners call in to make
selections. You must have a special radio to pick up the CRIS sub-frequency,
but one is provided free of charge to any listener with a visual
impairment or blindness. Call (312) 541-8400 for more information. http://www.thechicagolighthouse.org/default.asp?page=crisradio
