After pressure from the American Federation for the Blind, the U. S. Treasury Dept. was ordered by a federal judge to redesign its paper bills to vary in size and/or color. That would allow persons with blindness or visual impairments the ability to independently distinguish between denominations. The Dept. of the Treasury has appealed the case.
